Just a little sneak peek into an upcoming “Smart” food line…

MySmart FoodsHey guys! I’ve been privy to a new food line for 2 weeks now and I AM IMPRESSED! So impressed I’ve decided to give my readers a little sneak peek on the upcoming launch of the new MySmart foods by USANA Health Sciences at the end of this year. You could say I have “the inside scoop”. Oh man that was horrible. 🙂

Are you into bulking up? Trimming down? Maintaining a health weight or a healthy lifestyle perhaps? Meal prepping? The first thing that catches my eye is the bright crisp packaging. Looks great! However what I love most about the MySmart food line is the taste! Oh man, there are so many different flavors that you are bound to find a few you love. If you’d rather not include a MySmart Flavor packet to your protein shake, you can go without and mix in fruit or whatever you prefer. I’ve done both.

Let’s get personal. Some people like Soy (from a health professional’s perspective there is a lot of mis-information on soy out there), some people like whey, and some people would rather a plant-based protein source. Well USANA has them all and you can choose which one you would like to start with. If you’d like additional protein (more than 18GMs) they’ve got you covered with a protein booster, 10 extra GMs per serving. If you need more fiber, they have a fiber booster! Any way you want it, you got it. The MySmart foods are Low-Glycemic and will not spike your insulin levels and will break down slower and over a long period of time leaving you fuller longer.

Good News! There IS hope in the world…

Hi friends! I wanted to get out this quick post today to encourage and strengthen all my readers. It is so easy to get wrapped up in all the hype, negative press, and negative posts showing up in ALL our social media feeds. It sometimes feels like there’s just nothing good going on in the world. From all the hurt going on in Ferguson, all the terrorism going on throughout the world, the “gloom and doom”
of the economy, and the constant barrage of senseless killings that the media shoves into our faces seemingly minute by minute, its tough to stay positive and hopeful.

These days the media is constantly fighting for our attention. Before all the technology, the only way they could get it was through the television, newspapers, and radio. However, now we all have our faces in our phones (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Whatsapp, Periscope, etc) ALL THE TIME and the media outlets know it! They use these platforms to spread sensationalism and all the gloom and doom because it sells-we are attracted to negativity. How often do you see good news in the media? Rarely. We, for whatever reason, cannot turn away from devastation. Have you ever been stuck in traffic to find out that when you get to the cause of the traffic, it was a small fender bender of which people were slowing down to get a better look? Something inside us draws us and our attention to these types of things. It takes a toll though, doesn’t it? Subconsciously and unaware it eats at us.

Well, my hope in posting this is to let you all know that there arIMG_5249e some great things happening in the world. Also, I wanted to share with you the hope that is in Christ Jesus. When it seems like the world is going to hell and I feel like I’m losing hope, I remember who’s in control. I remember that the One who created all that is is still on
the throne! I’ve read the end of the book guys and we win this war.

So, real quick I want to let you in on some things that have happened this week in the world that you may have not gotten wind of. YES, there really is some good things going on out there, but “they” don’t want you to hear about all that stuff. So, here we go:

My 10 MOST Favorite Entrepreneurial Quotes;

Everyone loves a good quote, right? I know I do. However, I really never gave them much attention until I became an entrepreneur. Now, I find myself posting quotes I run across to my social media feeds all the time! I do this because I often find them to be motivational and inspirational. It’s kind of like a good song you cimagesonnect with when you find yourself in a particular mood or situation. Plus, when you run across a great quote, don’t you want to share it with the world?

So I’ve compiled a rather large list of quotes that I’ve found throughout the years and have it in the “notes” app on my iphone (I was going through the “notes” app when I thought about today’s blog). Are you food prepping? It’s easier than you think! Here are 5 helpful tips for the newbie…

Have you seen the latest health craze-food prepping? It is sweeping the health and fitness crowd by storm! It’s actually an incredible idea and can be both very effective if you want to lose weight, bulk up, save a whole lot of time AND save a whole lot of money! If you do it right you can really see some SERIOUS gains.

So, because I’ve been prepping now for about 60 days, I felt that I should share some of the things I’ve run across good and bad and give you guys some helpful tips that will help you get started!

  1. Buy a scale-The reason this is important is because you want to have precise measurements when separating out your food. Counting your macro-nutrients is VERY important to achieving your fitness goals, whether you’re plan is to bulk up or trim down or even just to maintain. Here’s a great scale and the one my wife, Melle, chose for us.
  2. Pick a Day-Find a day during your week that is the slowest. Sundays usually work for most. The reason it’s important to pick a day where you have a lot of time is because it takes A LOT of time to prepare all this great food!
  3. Purchase food the day of-If you purchase the food the day of the meal prep it is SO MUCH easier and convenient. You buy the food, you get home, and its already all out and ready to go, instead of you buying food one day, putting it ALL away and then pulling it all out on prep day.
  4. Find a Friend-It’s no secret that having an accountability partner will keep you focused. This is true with EVERYTHING and food prepping is no different. Find a friend that wants to food prep with you. They will not only keep you accountable but will also have a lot to add. They will have recipes that you may have not even thought about!
  5. Supplies-This part is really important. You can spend A LOT of money or you can spend a little bit of money. Nowadays you can actually buy disposable tupperware. We buy ours at Walmart. To give you an idea, you can buy a 4 pack of the perfect size storage containers for under $3. Another necessity I highly recommend is a great food prep bag. Here is the one I chose. It’s very cool and it keeps the food just the right temperature AND it looks awesome (which I think is very important)!

Well, that’s it! I hope these little tips really help you when starting with your meal prepping journey. It’s a whole lot of fun and I must say, I have seen some SERIOUS gains since I started. I also notice that I stay away from junk food, because the only thing I eat throughout the day is what I put in my bag! :))
